PhD in Sociology or a cognate discipline with Development Studies specialization.
Experience teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Experience teaching and publishing in Development Studies.
Expertise in development theory and practice with SA context.
Supervision of Master's degrees; PhD supervision an advantage.
Engagement with communities in teaching, learning, and research.
National and international publication record; leadership and fundraising experience.

Responsibilities

Disseminate knowledge through teaching and learning, conduct research, and engage with community.
Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and community engagement; contribute to governance.
Fulfill administrative, management, and leadership duties at department, faculty, or university levels.
