Head of Department
- Doctorate in Chemistry or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, with at least 3 years' experience as a Senior Lecturer.
- The 5 years mentioned above must include 2 years' management experience related to the functions of a HOD (academic management; curriculum development; quality assurance and accreditation processes; financial and HR management in a Department).
- Research and supervision experience commensurate with the level of Senior Lecturer or above
Senior Lecturer
- Doctorate in Chemistry or equivalent qualification.
- A base qualification Chemistry or equivalent qualification
- At least 4 years' relevant working experience, which must include two years teaching experience in Chemistry at the Higher Education level
- Research and postgraduate supervision commensurate with Institutional requirements
- Experience in curriculum development
- Industry experience will be an added advantage

Senior Lecturer
- Teach Analytical Chemistry courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise undergraduate final year research projects and postgraduate students
- Monitor and assess Work Integrated Learning
- Develop innovative teaching and learning methods and materials for the subjects being taught (e.g., lecture notes, tutorials, online content)
- Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department
- Participate in curriculum development
- Participate in research projects and produce DHET-accredited publications
- Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department
- Assist with marketing and student recruitment activities
- Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
