About the Position : The Senior Lead | People and Performance is responsible for fostering a high-performance, values-driven organisation.
This role leads the design and execution of the Group's people strategy — building a culture that enables excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The incumbent partners closely with the Executive and Leadership teams to align people initiatives with strategic priorities, enhance leadership capability, and strengthen organisational health through data-driven insights and impactful development programs.
This role combines strategic foresight with hands‑on leadership in culture, talent, HR and performance systems.
The ideal candidate is both people-focused and analytically minded — someone who can bridge strategy and execution while shaping an environment where our people and teams can thrive.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial / Organisational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years' progressive experience in Human Resources or People Leadership roles, with at least 3 years in a senior or strategic capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in driving people strategy, talent development, and organisational performance initiatives.
- Proven track record of partnering with executive teams on strategic people and culture matters.
- Strong understanding of South African labour law and HR best practices.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in Organisational Development, HR Strategy, or Leadership (e.g. MBA, MCom, or equivalent).
- Experience in a multi-entity or group structure, ideally within engineering, technology, or consulting environments.
- Exposure to implementing HR technology platforms, people analytics, and data-driven decision‑making tools.
- Certification in coaching, change management, or psychometrics will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Organisational Culture and Engagement: Embed our values and cultural framework across all people practices; design and implement employee engagement strategies, feedback channels, and recognition programs; drive initiatives that build connection, purpose, and belonging across the organisation.
- Talent Management and Development: Develop and maintain a Group-wide talent management and succession planning framework; build leadership development and capability programs that accelerate growth and readiness; champion learning initiatives that align with business needs and future skills.
- Performance Management and Optimisation: Lead the optimisation of an integrated performance management system; ensure alignment between individual goals, team outcomes, and strategic business objectives; enable a continuous feedback culture supported by coaching and data insights.
- Workforce Planning and Capability Building: Partner with business units to align workforce planning with strategic growth and operational needs; identify critical skills gaps and design targeted development or acquisition strategies; promote organisational agility and future‑readiness through structured capability planning.
- Employee Experience and Relations: Oversee the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit, ensuring a consistent and positive experience; provide leadership on employee relations, engagement, and well‑being initiatives; manage sensitive matters with discretion, fairness, and alignment to company values.
- People Analytics and Insights: Define and manage key HR metrics to track engagement, retention, and performance; provide data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making; present regular organisational health reports to the Executive Team.
- Leadership and Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Group Executive on all people and culture matters; contribute to long-term strategic planning and organisational design initiatives; lead and develop the People and Performance team to deliver exceptional service and impact.
