SavageOne Pty Ltd in Midrand, South Africa, seeks an IT Project Manager to plan, execute, and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
You will coordinate cross-functional teams and third-party contractors, manage risks, governance, and reporting, and mentor junior staff while ensuring quality across the project lifecycle.
The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects within strict deadlines and budgets. This role involves acquiring resources, coordinating team efforts (including third-party contractors), and ensuring successful delivery aligned with project objectives. The Project Manager also oversees quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring successful outcomes.
Manage all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including:
Internal teams (project team, users, line management, executives)
External stakeholders and vendors
Facilitate handover from Sales to Operations.
Define and communicate deliverables and responsibilities clearly.
Ensure project resources are trained and skilled to meet deliverables.
Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and reports.
Adhere to governance frameworks and best practices.
Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks and issues.
Enforce change management protocols as needed.
Oversee transition from Project Delivery to Support/Service Delivery (including documentation and technical requirements).
Provide input on pricing and scheduling during presales phases.
Take full ownership of project delivery and associated challenges.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to organizational knowledge sharing.
Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Informatics, or related field.
Recognized Project Management Certification:
PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner.
SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) Certification:
SAFe Agilist, SAFe Scrum Master, or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager.
Practical experience in Agile environments is required.
5-8 years of project management experience in telecommunications (fixed line and/or GSM).
Proven track record in delivering OSS/BSS solutions, including:
Systems integration
Experience with matrix management and resource coordination across projects and geographies.
Previous hands-on technical experience (e.g., software development, support, or business analysis) preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and governance.
Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
Effective communicator across all levels, including bridging technical and business teams.
