Job summary

Smart4 Cloud Limited is seeking a hands-on Technical Manager (Senior L3+ Level) to lead the full technical operations of a Managed Services environment in Maitland, Cape Town. This on-site role requires a strong people leadership focus and direct involvement in architecture, security, and project delivery.

You will mentor L1–L3 engineers, collaborate with the CEO on technical standards, and ensure SLA-driven service delivery with robust documentation and SOPs.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience in an IT Managed Services (MSP) environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Strong hands-on capability with Microsoft 365 and core infrastructure.
• Solid networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls).
• Experience managing service desks, SLAs, and escalation workflows.
• Strong project delivery experience (planning, scoping, execution).
• Process-driven mindset with focus on SOPs, standards and documentation.
• Calm, confident leader with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end technical operations across support, engineering, infrastructure and projects.
• Mentor a technical team (L1–L3) focusing on accountability and growth.
• Collaborate with the CEO on technical standards, architecture and major decisions.
• Oversee service delivery with SLA adherence and high-quality client outcomes.
• Own escalation management, root-cause analysis and long-term remediation.
• Drive project delivery including migrations, upgrades and cloud transitions.
• Build and enforce SOPs, documentation and repeatable processes.
• Own infrastructure planning, risk reduction and proactive improvements.
