Success Factors
- Educational Background: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related technical fields.

Position Purpose
Proven practitioner, proactively leading in using advanced analytical techniques and tools to uncover context and deep understanding of our complex data, using diverse datasets and reports.
Acts as a mentor and role‑model of insights analytics to build capability throughout the business.
Supports leaders by interpreting and communicating crucial insights to contribute to data‑informed decision‑making, enabling Brambles to enhance performance, optimise processes, and achieve its strategic objectives.
As the Senior Data Analyst, you will lead the technical data analysis and visualisation designs to achieving business outcomes, providing thought leadership to the processes, tools & systems needed, researching, and maintaining best practices.
This will include the E2E management of end‑user defects and minor enhancements.
This position will develop business solutions from the generation of new demand for data services and the constant modification of the existing suite of business intelligence products and is responsible for the design, development & delivery of scalable Dashboard and Report Visualisations, including the build of pixel‑perfect reporting, that utilises best practice techniques and processes across APAC.
The Senior Data Analyst additionally designs, codes, debugs, tests, documents, trains and supports server‑based applications such as SQL & PowerBI consistent with established business requirements and specifications to deliver the highest possible value to the business.
Major / Key Accountabilities
- Working with the business to define & create insight to action (data storytelling) reports / dashboards, proof of concepts and general data analysis / data profiling for a variety of stakeholders across Finance; Sales & Customer Solutions; Operations; Logistics; Marketing and Customer Experience that enable data based decision making in achieving the regions KPI’s and financial objectives.
- Translating business requirements into technical UX & UI designs, building out the logical and conceptual data models and data flows that are in support of project requirements, guiding key stakeholders in appropriate and effective use of data to achieve stated business outcomes.
- Identifies, communicates, and endeavours to resolve data gaps that impact the fulfilment of the business's functional requirements that also looks to provide innovative analytical insights in the delivery of key projects.
- Works within an agile environment, building products iteratively, further supporting the business through the execution of change‑management activities with regard to data analysis & data products across key stakeholders that drive adoption and ease of use.
- Collect and prepare data, often iteratively, helping to identify the business data needed to produce and prioritise the most useful insights and partnering with Data Management and IT teams to drive and implement data stewardship.
- Conduct detailed data analysis on data used across the business to evaluate business processes and improve on / create new features, solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self‑service frameworks for data consumers.
- Build the analytics engine by ensuring that the solution solves the business problem in the most efficient and interpretable form for business users.
- Provide technical expertise within PowerBI & SQL applications to include Application Administration; Technical Design; Configuration / Customisation; Data Migration / Conversion; Database Analysis; Database Modelling; Interfaces; Defect resolution; Deployment; Functional Training and support.
- Working collaboratively with the Data Engineer and the Data Scientist across various projects.
- A key part of this role is to help develop a data‑driven organisation in terms of structure, systems, style, people resources skills, shared values and strategy execution.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in programming, analytics, business intelligence, or equivalent.
- Proven experience & expertise in developing animated and interactive visualisations.
- Proven experience in developing & implementing data storytelling techniques using Visualization Tools (PowerBI; Tableau; Qlik).
- Proven experience is designing the User Interface and Experience that provide a data storytelling visualisation of the key insights and prescriptive actions.
- Experience in establishing PowerBI environments (development, test, acceptance and production).
- Extensive experience developing data models in both PowerBI & SQL.
- Proven experience in developing pixel‑perfect reporting using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and PowerBI Premium / Embed.
- Proven experience using Power Apps & Power Automate as a technical solution to solve business problems.
- Proven experience working with Confluence; Jira; Bitbucket for Test Management and Version Control.
- (Preferable) Experience with SSIS data integration tools.
- (Preferable) Experience building HTML5 based apps with complex interaction with web services.
- (Preferable) Experience coding in R or Python.
- (Preferable) Experience working with SAP ECC & SAP BW / Hanna & Business Objects.
- 5+ years' experience and deep knowledge of PowerBI (DAX Studio, M‑Data Mashup); SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- 5+ years' experience with programming skills in JavaScripting; SQL, MySQL; SQL Server, SSMS.
- Up to 1-year experience of using ETL tools (AWS Glue; Informatica; Azure Data Factory; Flat Files; SSIS).
- Excellent communication / listening & data storytelling skills.
- Ability to form relationships with key stakeholders in the delivery of data solutions.
