The candidate must have experience in people management, a strong technical understanding, and the drive and vision to take Tracker Data Center Operations to the next level.

The successful candidate will have experience creating / devising strategies, mentoring people at all levels, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions.

This position involves leading teams in Server Support, VMware support, SAN / Array Support, Backup support, and Linux, support.

This position requires hardware diagnostics followed by physical repair and includes participation in an on‑call rotation.

All candidates should be willing to work both independently.

Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.

In addition to a strong knowledge of Data Centres and hardware repair, candidates will create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site‑level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space.

This team works in an environment that operates 24 / 7.

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams in Server Support, VMware support, SAN/Array support, Backup support, and Linux support.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics followed by physical repair and participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Servers – manage servers, ensure firmware and drivers are installed and up‑to‑date, manage user access, backup server data, monitor performance and uptime.
  • SAN and Array – set up and configure storage devices, perform routine maintenance, liaise with third‑party vendors for support, upgrade firmware, manage all disks, implement a capacity planning procedure, create and install replacement parts procedures, train standby staff, monitor performance and integrity, ensure SAN replication.
  • Backups and Restores – create and regularly update backup and restore procedures and policy, maintain records of backup frequencies and times, perform regular restore tests, monitor backup hardware and software, manage procurement of media, ensure backups meet best‑practice retention cycles.
  • Disaster Recovery – ensure all critical business systems are replicated at DRE and at DR, including infrastructure, DB replication, and software; manage infrastructure DR plan; manage DR datacenter availability and stability; manage DR connectivity and capacity.
  • Application Servers – manage all application servers for Tracker applications, define and review SLAs with affected business users, ensure availability in line with agreed SLAs.
  • VMware – oversee all aspects within VMware.
  • Facilities – (note: this role is not responsible for execution of the facilities role, except for ensuring facilities resources meet the technology department’s requirements).
  • Manage Tracker Data Centre (collocated OR owned) – ensure all infrastructure facilities are secure, monitor environmental conditions, plan capacity, create and update capacity management processes, regularly review monitoring results, and implement actions.

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT qualification or diploma.
  • Experience and product‑specific training related to the role and technologies in use.
