Role Overview

The Senior Human Capital (HC) Manager will lead the full people function across our South African entities. This pivotal leadership role will shape HC as a strategic investment, driving business growth, culture, and compliance. As Senior HC Manager you will align people strategy with business objectives, oversee the entire HC value chain, and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HC strategy, workforce planning, and organisational change.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Manage employee relations, Employment Equity, and compliance with BCEA, LRA, EE Act, Skills Development, OHSA, COIDA, and POPIA.
  • Oversee elements of payroll with Finance and employee rewards, and EVP initiatives to enhance retention and competitiveness.
  • Partner with the Training Manager on Health & Safety and Food Safety training programmes.
  • Manage HC systems, analytics, reporting, and the HC budget effectively.
Requirements
  • 8–10 years of broad HC / HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven experience managing HC across multiple entities and driving change initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in HC systems, payroll platforms, and analytics.
  • Experience in skills development planning, workforce planning, and SETA / EE reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (postgraduate advantageous).
  • Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation, Employment Equity, Skills Development, and HC best practices.
  • Fluent in English; additional South African languages advantageous.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency; HRIS and payroll systems experience essential.
