Placements24 seeks an experienced Specialized Freight Truck Operator for Mahikeng, North West. You will haul oversized and fragile freight using lowbeds and extendable trailers, ensuring secure loading and compliance with permits and regulations.

The role requires a Code 14 EC license with PDP, 7+ years of driving experience (3+ in heavy haulage), and strong route planning, problem solving, and independent work capabilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years driving experience, with 3+ years in specialized/heavy haulage transportation.
• Operate diverse specialized trailers (lowbeds, step decks, extendable).
• Manage permits, route surveys, and escort coordination.

Responsibilities

• Operate specialized transport vehicles (lowbeds, extendable trailers) to haul oversized, heavy, or fragile freight.
• Obtain and maintain all necessary permits and licenses for specialized transport.
• Plan and execute complex routes, coordinating with authorities and stakeholders.
• Ensure proper securing, blocking, and bracing of cargo per standards.
• Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and vehicles.
• Monitor cargo condition and report deviations.
• Communicate with dispatch, clients, and site personnel about load status.
• Adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and route Restrictions.
• Manage documentation for cargo, permits, and transit logs.
• Provide expert advice on safe handling and transport procedures.
