Job description
Overview

We are seeking, on behalf of our client, a highly experienced Senior Hardware Test Engineer to join their Test Engineering Group. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with expert knowledge of test systems and hardware development in demanding military and avionics environments. You will play a leading role in the design, development, and integration of advanced test systems that support mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to project plans, statements of work, and labour estimates for test bench development projects

  • Define lower-level hardware requirements for test benches

  • Perform high-level architectural design and detailed design, establishing the manufacturing baseline

  • Lead scheduling, procurement, and assembly activities

  • Coordinate mechanical design and assembly drawings

  • Oversee and participate in integration, testing, and qualification activities

  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation in line with development processes

  • Manage configuration and version control of baselines

  • Support troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of test benches

Qualifications
  • B.Eng. Degree (Electronics) or equivalent

Experience
  • 5+ years in test equipment and unit test integration

  • 10+ years in test system development and electronic circuit design

Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficiency with National Instruments and general test equipment

  • Familiarity with MW and RF test equipment

  • Strong grasp of signal integrity concepts

  • Electronic hardware design; schematic capturing and PCB layout (advantageous)

  • Beneficial: C# development skills

Competencies
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability

  • Skilled in requirements analysis, test system architecture, and hardware design

  • Effective technical team leadership experience
