Description/Synopsis:

A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Geometric Design Engineer / Technologist to join their Roads and Transportation division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the geometric design of complex road infrastructure projects for national and provincial authorities, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on major transportation projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng or BTech in Civil Engineering (minimum)
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) – preferable
• Minimum of 8 years’ road-specific geometric design experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil3D
• Experience with ACC (BIM360) and Navisworks advantageous
• Proven experience in roads and highways geometric design

Main Responsibilities:

• Geometric design of national, provincial, and urban road infrastructure projects
• Design of freeway interchanges, major provincial roads, urban arterials, dual carriageways, intersections, and roundabouts
• Preparation of road infrastructure design reports
• Development of tender documentation, including specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
• Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams including geotechnical, structural, materials, transportation, and environmental specialists
• Application of COLTO, COTO, and General Conditions of Contract where required
• Ensuring compliance with company ISO standards
• Providing technical input and support during project execution
• Assisting with projects as required
