Job summary

Network Finance in Randburg, South Africa seeks an experienced Senior Mobile Architect to lead cross‑platform development and shape mobile strategy. You will design scalable architectures, mentor developers, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality apps.

You will own end‑to‑end release management for Android and iOS, ensure secure coding practices, and drive continuous improvement across the mobile stack while coordinating with global teams and third‑party services.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Software Development or related field.
• Degree in IT/CS/Engineering advantageous.
• Minimum 6 years' software development experience.
• Proven mentoring experience.
• Strong hands-on with React Native, TypeScript, and Modern React.
• Android and iOS development experience.
• REST APIs and microservices experience.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, AWS EventBridge).
• Cloud experience (Azure advantageous).

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Development & Maintenance

• Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using modern mobile development frameworks and technologies.
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into responsive, user-friendly mobile applications.
• Integrate mobile applications with APIs, backend services, databases, and third-party platforms.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.

Technical Architecture & Standards

• Design scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile application architectures.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and architecture diagrams.
• Guide decisions around application structure, state management, offline functionality, modularity, performance, and scalability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and proactively manage technical debt.
• Establish and promote mobile development standards and best practices.

Performance & Security

• Monitor and optimise application performance, responsiveness, and stability.
• Implement secure coding practices, including authentication, authorisation, data encryption, and secure storage.
• Investigate and resolve application crashes, defects, and reliability issues using monitoring and analytics tools.

Release & Deployment Management

• Own the end-to-end release process for Android and iOS applications.
• Manage application versioning, build configurations, and deployment environments.
• Ensure consistent release and deployment practices across mobile platforms.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to developers.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party service providers.
• Contribute to software development lifecycle activities, including design, testing, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma in Software Development or a related field.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline will be advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years' software development experience.
• Proven experience mentoring and guiding developers.
• Strong hands‑on experience with:
