Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience with production applications ownership.
• Experience in senior development, technical lead or software architect roles.
• Proven track record delivering full-stack applications from requirements to deployment and support.
• Practical Linux, databases, cloud infrastructure and production troubleshooting experience.
• Experience guiding developers and making architectural decisions.
• Cloud, networking or Linux certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical design of new software platforms and enhancements to existing systems.
• Translate business objectives into technical solutions and define service boundaries, data models, APIs, and integration approaches.
• Design for security, maintainability, scalability, and performance; ensure interoperability.
• Assess existing apps and infrastructure, identify technical debt and implement roadmaps.
• Evaluate technologies considering lifecycle cost and long-term support.
• Maintain architectural documentation and provide technical authority for design reviews.
• Lead and contribute to full-stack development across back-end services, web apps and tools.
• Develop business logic, APIs, dashboards and customer workflows; optimise database schemas and queries.
• Integrate applications with devices, communication systems and third-party services.
• Improve existing Java-based and web apps and write secure, maintainable code.
• Conduct code reviews and resolve complex defects across layers.
• Design and develop software for device connectivity, telemetry, remote monitoring and control.
• Establish data foundations for reporting, analytics and AI/ML applications.
• Plan development, prepare estimates, identify risks and manage delivery schedules.
• Implement CI/CD, deployment automation and proper testing; ensure robust logging and monitoring.
• Provide senior technical ownership of infrastructure including Linux servers, cloud resources and security.
