We seek a Senior Frontend Engineer with 5+ years of experience in React/TypeScript, strong CSS skills, and Next.js experience. Remote work aligns with UK/European hours; Cape Town relocation is supported for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong React and TypeScript skills with production application experience.
• Understanding of modern CSS (Tailwind, CSS Modules, or styled-components).
• Experience with Next.js or similar SSR/SSG frameworks.
• Attention to accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to work from design files and make sensible UX decisions when the design does not cover every edge case.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Implement responsive, accessible interfaces from design specifications (Figma).
• Manage application state, API integration, and client-side data fetching.
• Optimise frontend performance: bundle size, rendering efficiency, and Core Web Vitals.
• Write component-level and integration tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress or Playwright).
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts and data structures.
