Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer (React & React Native) based in South Africa. You will build and evolve modern web and mobile experiences, translate business needs into robust frontend architectures, and own critical UI features from concept to production across web and mobile platforms.

You will collaborate across teams, optimize performance, and contribute to scalable architectures while learning new technologies and patterns in a dynamic, fully remote role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional frontend experience
• Strong JavaScript foundation with modern frontend apps
• Advanced React 18+ with hooks, context, patterns
• Expert TypeScript with advanced types
• State management knowledge (Redux, MobX, Zustand)
• SPA/PWA experience
• RESTful/GraphQL API integration
• Experience with Webpack/Vite/Rollup and CI/CD
• Automated testing with Jest/Cypress
• 1–2+ years React Native development
• SDKs for cross‑platform apps
• Upper‑Intermediate English or higher
• Experience with micro frontends/monorepos a plus
• Knowledge of design systems (Material UI, Tailwind) a plus
• Exposure to WebSockets/WebAssembly a plus
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks
• Proactive, ownership‑driven, fast to learn

Responsibilities

• Assess technical requirements and plan practical implementations
• Develop UI components and modern React/TypeScript patterns
• Build responsive, high‑quality web and front‑office features
• Participate in React Native mobile development and cross‑platform SDKs
• Refactor code for maintainability and performance
• Optimize components for cross‑browser/device performance
• Identify and fix bugs across projects and production
• Collaborate with state management libraries and APIs
• Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs in frontend/mobile apps
• Maintain automated tests (Jest/Cypress)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern workflows
• Communicate progress, challenges and solutions clearly
• Suggest improvements to development processes
• Adapt to changing priorities and learn new tech quickly
