Psybergate (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to shape architecture, drive reusable patterns, and own complex frontend initiatives in a multi-project environment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with backend teams, and contribute to the long-term technical direction of our platform, leveraging React, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with ReactJS.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience designing frontend architecture at scale.
• Deep understanding of component architecture, state management and application structure.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of testing, performance and maintainability.
• Experience working with large or complex codebases.
• Strong Git and code review experience.
• Experience applying software engineering standards, design patterns and best practices.
• Ability to identify and manage technical risks, dependencies and technical debt.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make independent technical decisions and explain the reasoning behind them.
• Experience taking ownership of projects from concept through to delivery.
• Technical leadership experience, including guiding engineering decisions and improving development practices.
• Coaching and mentoring skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with frontend and backend engineers in a delivery-focused environment.
• Relevant certifications in frontend or web development technologies.
• Java and Spring experience would be beneficial, particularly for full-stack development.
