Qualifications

Job description
Purpose of Position
  • Capturing & updating of crime information on databases and compilation & distribution of advanced crime reports & statistics and general office administration
  • Training and mentoring of forensic data administrators and - Forensic Data Analysis
  • Responsible for basic office administration of forensic data administrators and – Forensic Data Analysts
  • Compile and performance appraisals of system administrators, forensic data administrators and Forensic Data Analysts
  • Manage dedicated division workloads between forensic data administrators and Forensic Data Analysts
  • Analysis of crime information and compilation and presentation of crime reports and / or risk analysis reports
  • Generate tactical, strategic, and operational intelligence products in support of the division’s Investigations Mandate, including court directed reports upon request, to aid criminal investigations and criminal prosecutions.
  • Project management of new client requirements, translating them into outputs utilizing available tools in the department or recommending new ones to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Key Performance Areas

  • Assist & support investigators / managers / clients IRO crime information
  • Feedback on requests and queries within reasonable time
  • General office administration duties
  • Training and mentoring of system administrators, forensic data administrators and Forensic Data Analysts.
  • Manage and maintain client service level agreement and output expectation
  • Interpret information from various systems and records and evaluate information in the context of possible crimes being committed
  • Apply analytical approaches, processes and tools to detect crime and crime trends
  • Conduct analysis of various data sets of standards to medium complexity and add value to information received to establish if there are reasonable grounds for disclosure to relevant stakeholders
  • Contextualize information according to clients’ needs and prepare relevant reports, including the creation of charts and graphics, to explain findings in matters where there is a suspicion of crime or actual crime and present to clients
  • Interpret information from various systems and records and evaluate information in the context of possible crimes being committed and present to clients
  • Compile expert reports to relay findings in relation to analyses processes followed and implemented.
  • Attend crime combatting forums and represent company / division at meetings with clients
  • Assist and support in the investigation, arrest and prosecution of perpetrators
  • Attend product- and skills workshops as and when required
  • Provide expert testimony on work performed at judicial hearings
  • Correct and address matter where quality problems are observed or identified in the respective applications, products and project outputs
  • Assist in the development of crime prevention and risk mitigating strategies
  • Establish and maintain industry relationships and networks to leverage cross collaboration and information sharing
  • Successful translation of client requirements into actionable outputs using available tools or recommending new ones, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Additional KPIs involve timely project execution, stakeholder coordination, and delivery of high-quality, compliant reports and outputs which may inform decision making

Minimum Requirements
  • Academic Qualification : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related subject such as Law, Sociology, Psychology (with focus on criminal behavior) Criminology / Police Science / Criminal Justice / Forensic Science / Data Science / Data Analytics / Statistics and Research Methodology / Intelligence Studies / Security and Risk Management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CIIMS Pro user, Ciims administration / i2 analyst notebook & PowerBI
  • Working experience in any of the following relevant fields : law enforcement / intelligence / risk management / crime information environment
  • Report writing skills / presentations kills
  • Pass assessment tests relevant to the position
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in forensic data analysis
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in compiling and dealing with crime statistical reports
  • Clean criminal and ITC record (will be submitted to a polygraph and background test)
  • Working knowledge of data analysis applications, tools, and systems will be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and client relations skills
  • Candidate must be presentable
