Requirements and Expectations
Minimum Requirements
  • Senior / Grade 12 certificate and a Diploma in Hospitality Management.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in the food service or hospitality industry.
  • A SHE Representative Certificate will serve as an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety.
  • Understanding of business administration and food service management.
  • Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and nutrition principles.
  • Familiarity with quality management and supply chain procedures.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards, health and safety regulations, and inventory control techniques.
  • Ability to dish out meals professionally and maintain food presentation standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and design menus that meet diverse nutritional requirements.
  • Oversee and monitor the cleaning, maintenance, and safe use of kitchen utensils and facilities.
  • Supervise the ordering, receiving, and storage of food items such as dry goods, perishables, and dietary products.
  • Inspect kitchen and food preparation areas to ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Plan and organize special functions and catering events.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, kitchen supplies, and financial transactions.
  • Train and supervise waiters and kitchen support staff.
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring food quality and portion control.
