Placements24 in Bloemfontein is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager specialized in Fixed Income to lead investment portfolios for institutional clients. You will develop strategies, conduct market analysis, and manage risk to achieve optimal returns for clients.

The role requires expertise in government bonds, corporate debt, and derivatives, plus strong analytical and communication skills. This is a senior leadership position within a respected asset management firm in the Free State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• MBA or CFA designation highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in portfolio management, specifically within fixed income.
• Expertise in fixed income markets, including government bonds, corporate debt, and derivatives.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement investment strategies for fixed income portfolios aligned with client objectives and risk tolerance.
• Conduct thorough credit research and macroeconomic analysis to inform investment decisions.
• Select individual securities (bonds, derivatives) and manage portfolio duration and yield.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposures, and market conditions, making necessary adjustments.
• Collaborate with sales and client service teams to communicate portfolio strategy and performance to clients.
• Manage relationships with brokers, analysts, and other market participants.
