Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mobile Application Developer to join our fintech client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will build and maintain native iOS and Android apps, turning designs into polished mobile experiences and integrating with backend services.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of mobile development experience, expertise in Swift/Objective-C or Kotlin/Java, and familiarity with cross‑platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mobile application development.
• Proven experience developing native iOS applications using Swift or Objective-C.
• Proven experience developing native Android applications using Kotlin or Java.
• Experience with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) is a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and platform-specific design guidelines.
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and working with JSON data.
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
• Knowledge of mobile app security best practices.
• Experience with app store deployment processes (App Store, Google Play Store).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native iOS and/or Android applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to define and implement new features.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Swift/Objective-C (iOS) and/or Kotlin/Java (Android).
• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs and services.
• Optimize application performance for speed, responsiveness, and battery efficiency.
• Implement and manage push notifications and other platform-specific features.
• Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the development process.
• Ensure the technical security and data privacy of mobile applications.
