Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd in Sandton, SA, seeks a Senior Financial Officer to drive financial reporting, analysis, and planning. You will lead monthly closing, variance analysis, and multi-year budgets, advising senior management on profitability and risks.

You will train managers, monitor headcount costs across branches, and ensure compliance with financial policies while collaborating with operations to mitigate fraud and improve controls. This role offers a hybrid work setup.

Qualificações

• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis and reporting in banking, financial services or fintech.
• Experience in financial forecasting, variance analysis, and budget management.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; able to use data analysis tools (R, C).
• Knowledge of risk management, financial legislation.
• Experience leading financial planning processes and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple data sources and prepare detailed reports.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct variance analysis comparing results against budgets and prior periods, with clear commentary for stakeholders.
• Lead the financial planning cycle, including annual budgets, three-year plans, and quarterly forecasts.
• Monitor and report on staff costs, headcount, and expenditure against budgets for branch expansion projects.
• Present financial performance reports to senior management and regional committees.
• Advise stakeholders on profitability and financial performance metrics.
• Train line managers and stakeholders in financial management practices.
• Oversee compliance with policies in branch administration, training, marketing, and donations.
• Collaborate with operations and infrastructure teams to mitigate fraud and loss risks.
• Ensure timely submission of all reporting requirements and stay updated on industry legislation and best practices.

What You'll Do:

Requirements:

• Proven ability in financial forecasting, variance analysis, and budget management
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools, including R and C
• Knowledge of risk management, business writing, and financial legislation
• Experience in leading financial planning processes and stakeholder engagement
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple data sources and prepare detailed reports

Nice to Have:

• Experience with financial software and systems specific to banking and financial services
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks and compliance standards in South Africa
