Recruitpartners in Johannesburg seeks a Senior Financial Manager: FP&A to lead financial planning, forecasting and analysis, providing senior stakeholders with insights to inform business decisions. This is a strategic finance leadership role that challenges you to turn data into decisions.

This position will manage FP&A processes, drive improvements across tools and governance, and partner with senior leaders to shape business strategy.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Financial Management or related discipline.
• CA(SA) or CIMA preferred.
• 12+ years’ financial experience, including at least 5 years’ FMCG FP&A.
• Strong knowledge of FMCG process development and execution.
• Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Proficiency in SAP, MS Office and QlikView.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial plans, including 3-Year Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan, monthly rolling forecasts and weekly flash reports.
• Manage FP&A relationships and act as the primary contact for financial planning and analysis.
• Develop and improve FP&A processes, tools and reporting to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure forecasting and reporting deliverables are accurate, timely and meaningful.
• Oversee cost management, governance and expenditure optimisation.
• Participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across operational processes, systems and ways of working.
• Monitor cost drivers, variances and discrepancies, and mitigate financial risk.
• Ensure adherence to financial processes, controls, standards and governance frameworks.
• Lead, develop and manage the FP&A team with strong performance.
• Provide meaningful financial and operational insights to support strategic decision-making.

Senior Financial Manager: FP&A | Johannesburg

If you’re someone who can look at a set of numbers and immediately spot what’s going right, what’s going wrong, and what’s about to go wrong — we should probably talk! We’re looking for a Senior Financial Manager: FP&A to take the lead on financial planning, forecasting and analysis, providing senior stakeholders with the insights they need to make informed business decisions. This is a senior role for someone who enjoys getting stuck into the numbers, but also understands that there is an actual business attached to the spreadsheet!

Key Responsibilities:

• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Strong proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office and QlikView.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues and identify practical solutions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly when engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership, accountability, influencing and decision-making abilities.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to understand the wider business impact of financial decisions.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge, influence and drive improvements.

Conclusion

This is definitely not a “keep the lights on and send the monthly report” kind of finance role. You’ll be expected to challenge the numbers, challenge the business and occasionally challenge the sanity of whoever moved your spreadsheet formula!
