About the Role

Our client, a leading international financial services firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will play a crucial role in providing in-depth financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving operational efficiency across various business units. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain complex financial models to forecast future business performance, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections. Conduct variance analysis, investigating significant deviations from budget and forecast, and providing actionable insights and recommendations. Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key financial trends, risks, and opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and support the budgeting and planning process. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling to support strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other special projects. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, and contribute to the implementation of financial best practices. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the overall development of the finance team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CA(SA)) is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or a similar role. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling, pivot tables, and advanced formulas. Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) software is a plus. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and valuation methodologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in driving financial performance improvements. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
