This role requires you to be accountable for driving profitable, sustainable new-unit franchise growth and digital channel investment across the continent. Owns the financial case for growth investments, including site economics, development incentives, capex and ROI/ROIC, and presents recommendations to Investment Committee and Franchise Policy Committee. Leads capital budgeting, monthly forecasting and monthly reporting to Global, giving leadership accurate, timely insight to make informed investment decisions.

Responsibilities

Communication Required

• Develop solutions with Development team to unlock sustainable methods to achieve new build targets that deliver to KFC’s profits
• Partner with KFC franchisees to optimize their business model to deliver consistent sustainable profits
• Present to the KFC Leadership team on key strategic levers that will enhance the overall KFC business model
• Communicate within the Planning team on solutions / actions that will assist in the team delivering on their goals
• Lead / participate in cross-functional teams to unlock and deliver on new opportunities to step change the KFC business
• Digital Steerco & Digital team: channel performance, KPI tracking, forecasts vs target. Capex budget holders (Development, Operations, IT, Facilities): gather capital requirements, agree budgets, monthly capex updates and global capital template submissions.
• Global Finance: monthly reporting submissions, capital template submissions and follow-up queries.

Problem Solving & Analysis

• Provide in-depth analysis of the viability of new franchisee units through development and optimization of a comprehensive business model.
• Develop models to assess site economics, capex requirements, payback and the performance of new units.
• Design development incentive structures that make new units viable for franchisees while protecting KFC returns; model incentivised versus unincentivised payback.
• Identify potential risks for franchisees and KFC, and develop commercially sustainable mitigations.
• Identify solutions to lower capex and assess their sustainability and impact on the business model.
• Consolidate and prepare capital budgets across functions and markets; reconcile monthly actuals against budget and forecast, explaining variances and phasing shifts.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports to Global, covering performance against budget and forecast with clear commentary on variances, risks and opportunities.
• Analyse Digital Tech Fund spend against budget and forecast; track phasing and value delivered by digital investments.
• Forecast digital-channel performance using transaction-led logic and stress-test model methodology, including applying channel uplifts to each channel's own base.
• Build ROI cases for digital-channel investments, covering incremental transactions and sales, margin impact, investment and running costs, payback and post-rollout returns.
• Analyse product, menu and mission performance, including weekly per-store units by item and customer level.

Judgement And Decision Making

• Present each site's economics at Investment Committee and make a formal finance recommendation to approve, decline or approve with conditions.
• Recommend go/no-go decisions, sequencing and phasing for new markets and pipeline sites to senior leadership.
• Challenge and validate franchisee, digital and brand-planning forecast assumptions before inclusion in plans.
• Own the consolidated capex budget and monthly capex forecast; recommend reallocations, flag over- or under-spend and sign off capital templates for global reporting.
• Recommend which digital-channel investments to fund, scale or stop based on ROI and tracked performance.
