Job description
SUMMARY :

Looking for a FTC starting in January 2026? Large Construction company, based on the East Rand has an opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant for 1 year FTC. Report directly to the Financial Manager and be responsible for gathering and monitoring financial data, prepare statements (Balance Sheets and Income Statements), forecasting costs and revenues, managing statutory and other payments, assist with the external audit process and provide accounting support to both the South African and foreign branches. A thorough understanding of accounting systems and the procedures which need to be in place to ensure the financial integrity of the financial data is essential.

POSITION INFO :

A completed B.Com Degree is essential (a B.Com (Hons) is advantageous, coupled with 5 years relevant experience in commerce. KPI's include :

  • monthly duties including the guiding of Branch Co-ordinators on the correct allocation of monthly expenses and payments;
  • perform variance analysis at month-end on the monthly income statement;
  • authorize bank payments on system;
  • assist foreign Branch Co-ordinators with the month-end process;
  • perform Balance Sheet and intercompany account reconciliations;
  • raise forex adjustment journals for foreign intercompany accounts;
  • check and perform bank reconciliations;
  • deal with any accounting issues at the branches;
  • process / check month-end and ad hoc journals;
  • assist the FM in the preparation of the monthly management accounts;
  • handle forex payment requests;
  • maintenance of the fixed assets register;
  • VAT / PAYE / WHT;
  • provisional tax;
  • debtors;
  • creditors;
  • forecast and budgeting process and assist with the external audit process.
