Overview
Position: Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Gqeberha
The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for financial control with the assistance of the junior and intermediate accountants. As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will monitor and enforce compliance with finance-related laws, procedures, and regulations such as tax filing, foreign exchange, payroll and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting:
 - Assist with the monthly financial accounting process
 - Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial account reconciliations
 - Monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards
 - Finalise the individual entity reporting packs
 - Perform monthly reviews of balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain accurate and complete financial records
 - Analyse the trial balance for mistakes / deviations and be able to discuss the results with management
 
Statutory Reporting and Annual Audit
- Compile a first review of all clients, supplier and service provider contracts.
 - Maintain Frontline’s Contracts Register with all clients, supplier and service provider contracts.
 - Assist with statutory reporting and group consolidation of 4 entities
 - Assist with the planning and supporting of the annual audits of 4 entities
 
Treasury Management
- Assist Accounts Payable and / or Receivable function
 - Review Debtors and / or Creditors statement reconciliations
 - Review Bank reconciliations
 - Multi-Currency Cashflow Planning
 - Initiate Weekly Payment Runs
 
Taxation
- VAT Submissions & Reporting
 - EMP Submissions & Reporting
 - Corporation Tax
 - Withholding Tax
 
Payroll
- Processing of Payroll Accounting
 - TimeCamp Reporting & Analysis
 
Financial Leadership
- Provide assistance and guidance to junior and intermediate accountants
 - Perform basic administrative duties as needed on a day-to-day basis
 
Requirements
- B.Comm (Hons) with completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles (or similar)
 - A minimum of 5 years financial experience in auditing, FMCG, retail, research, or a similar industry.
 - Excellent financial acumen, with experience in revenue and cost management
