Job summary

Abbott Diagnostics Senior Field Service Engineer based in Johannesburg, South Africa, is responsible for installation, technical support, and lifecycle management of Abbott instruments across the region. You will drive service excellence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will perform site readiness assessments, deliver trainings, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while traveling across Africa/EMEA as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field service experience with diagnostic instruments.
• Experience with immunology instruments is a plus.
• Degree in Biomedical/Electrical/Mechatronics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Install and service Abbott Diagnostics instruments at customer sites across Africa/MEA.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support and manage escalations.
• Drive service improvements via performance metrics and preventive maintenance.
• Deliver technical training and coaching to customers and distributor engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Abbott quality systems and safety standards.
