Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Facilities Engineer to remotely support their operations, with a focus on their presence near East London . This role is critical for the design, construction, maintenance, and optimization of production facilities within the Oil & Gas sector . You will ensure that all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations. Working independently with a high degree of autonomy, you will leverage your expertise to manage complex projects and contribute to our client's long-term infrastructure strategy. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of new oil and gas production facilities.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and longevity of existing infrastructure.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical reviews for facility upgrades and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage contracts with vendors and service providers for facility maintenance and projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues related to processing equipment and utilities.
• Contribute to the development of long‑term facility management plans and capital expenditure budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proven experience in managing engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of process equipment, P&IDs, and plant safety systems.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently in a remote setting.
