Senior Engineering Manager

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Professional Engineer (PR Eng) to lead and manage the engineering teams for mechanical seals and expansion joints. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical foundation, project management experience, and a deep understanding of regulatory and design standards for pressure vessels. The candidate will play a critical role in designing, reviewing, and approving engineering plans and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and oversee engineering designs, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Stamp, sign, and approve engineering documents and drawings in compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Lead or supervise multidisciplinary application and design teams, ensuring efficient project execution and timely delivery.
  • Conduct internal site visits, inspections, and evaluations to ensure work is progressing according to plan.
  • Analyze technical problems and develop innovative, practical engineering solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with customers, contractors and other professionals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and standards relevant to the discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, including environmental and safety laws.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership within the organization.
Qualifications, Experience & Other Qualities
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active Professional Engineering accreditation from ECSA.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience with pressure vessels.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards (e.g. EN, ASME, SANS 347, PER), and regulations.
  • Proficient in design software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
  • Design verification with FEA.
  • Problem solving in Rotating equipment environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS office and Navision/SAP.
