Product development expertise includes medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles in applications such as delivery, bus, motorhome, off‑highway, refuse and several other specialized and vocational vehicle markets.

Duties & Responsibilities

SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER – Centurion Product Development.

Details designs from first principles as well as improvement on existing product ranges.

Qualification and Key Skills Required

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering (B Eng.)
• Minimum of 7 years of design experience
• Ability to plan and execute project plans
• Ability to guide and mentor other engineers
• Innovative and self‑driven
• Hands‑on approach to problem solving
• Readily able to adjust to changing priorities
• Objective orientated, setting goals and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

• 3D CAD models designs and presentation to clients
• Preparation of manufacturing and supplier part drawings
• Conduct concept and design reviewsManage and support the day‑to‑day design activities
• Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements
• Interface with materials and purchasing on new part design and sourcing
• Interface with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes
• Interface with the Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design products that meet government regulations, restrictions and codes
