The role requires 5–7 years in energy trading, deep knowledge of energy markets, risk management skills and the ability to perform under pressure. Flexibility for some remote trading activities is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of energy trading experience.
• Proven profitable trading track record in energy markets.
• Deep knowledge of energy commodity markets, drivers, regulations and mechanisms.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Proficiency with trading platforms and analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute trading strategies for energy products (electricity, gas, futures, options) in SA and international markets.
• Monitor trends, news and indicators to identify opportunities and risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute trading strategies for various energy products (e.g., electricity, natural gas, futures, options) in South African and international markets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in energy trading, with a strong understanding of physical and financial energy markets.
• Proven track record of profitable trading in competitive energy markets.
• Deep knowledge of energy commodity markets, including drivers, regulations, and trading mechanisms.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent decision-making abilities and capacity to work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in trading platforms and analytical software.
