Placements24 seeks a Senior Employment Law Specialist to provide expert advice and representation on all facets of employment law for South African businesses. This fully remote role offers autonomy to work from anywhere in the country and contribute to fair labour relations.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of specialized employment law experience, deep knowledge of SA labour legislation, and strong client-facing skills within a remote-first practice.

Qualifications

• Proven 6+ years in employment law.
• Knowledge of Labour Relations Act and BCEA.
• Experience in labour disputes and litigation.
• Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and client management abilities.
• Able to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on all aspects of employment law including contracts, policies, disputes and compliance.
• Draft, review and update employment contracts, policies and handbooks.
• Advise on disciplinary hearings, grievances and CCMA/Bargaining Council disputes.
• Represent clients in labour court proceedings and arbitrations.
• Conduct legal trainings and workshops for clients on employment law.
• Assist with Mergers & Acquisitions focusing on employment law.
• Develop proactive strategies to mitigate employment-related risks.
• Stay updated on legislation, case law and best practices in employment law.
• Manage client relationships and deliver high-quality legal services.
• Contribute to the firm's knowledge base and thought leadership.
