Job summary

RELX INC is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to guide managers and HR teams across South Africa on complex labour matters and compliant outcomes. You will manage investigations, disciplinary processes, and disputes, partnering with Employment Counsel to ensure adherence to LRA, BCEA, EEA, and related laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or postgraduate qualification in Labour Relations or HR Management.
• Proven record representing employers in CCMA proceedings.
• Deep post-qualification experience in employee relations, labour relations, workplace investigations, and dispute resolution.
• Corporate, shared services, and multinational experience.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and employment practices.
• Experience advising managers, HR teams, and business leaders on complex employee relations matters.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Advise and partner with HRBPs, managers, and business leaders on complex employee relations matters, labour law compliance, and legal risk.
• Manage employee relations cases end to end, including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, terminations, and organisational change.
• Draft employee relations and labour-related documentation and maintain accurate, compliant case records.
• Partner with internal Employment Counsel to ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, including the Labour Relations Act (LRA), BCEA, EEA, and other applicable laws.
• Represent the organisation at the CCMA and Labour Court, where required.
• Apply discretion and sound judgment while leading sophisticated processes, decisions, and handling sensitive information.
• Monitor employee relations trends, analyse data, and provide insights and recommendations to improve workplace culture and reduce organisational risk.
