Overview
Summary : Under the general direction of the Electronic Workshop Manager, responsible for performing various Electronic workshop related tasks on a day to day basis. The objective is to perform assembly, installation, alteration, repair, fault finding, calibration and testing of electronic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of electronic technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback
- Plan and coordinate daily workflow, assigning tasks based on workload and deadlines
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support technicians in effective resolution strategies
- Perform calibration and repair of electronic equipment, especially for high-priority or specialized tasks
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for calibration, repair, and quality assurance
- Maintain accurate records of calibration data, test results, and maintenance history using specialized software
- Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to identify process improvements and optimize resources
- Promote and enforce safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety and compliance
- Serve as a technical point of contact for customer inquiries and support needs
- Provide mentorship and technical training to junior technicians
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators to troubleshoot and verify electronic systems
- Design and develop electronic circuits for testing, and repair applications, ensuring functionality and reliability
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics or a related field
- 5 years experience in a team leader format
- Proven experience in electronic equipment calibration and repair
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and electronic testing equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
- Familiarity with quality standards
- Familiarity with calibration standards and procedures (e.g., ISO 17025, ANSI Z540)
- Unendorsed legal drivers license
- Must be willing to travel from time to time
- Excellent communication skills (English)
