Qualifikationen

• Proficiency in power system analysis software: PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Strong understanding of protection, control and stability principles.
• Experience with renewables grid integration is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities, and relocate to Nelspruit.

About the Role Our client, a prominent force in the Nelspruit energy sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Grid Engineer to bolster their technical capabilities. This role is instrumental in the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical grid infrastructure, ensuring reliability and efficiency. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on grid operations, protection systems, and power system stability. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical energy projects in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and transient stability analysis.
• Design and optimize electrical grid infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
• Develop and implement protection schemes and relay settings to ensure grid reliability and safety.
• Analyze grid performance, identify potential issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee the integration of new generation sources (including renewables) into the existing grid.
• Collaborate with project teams, operational staff, and external stakeholders on grid-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical grid codes and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of technical expertise within the team.

Requirements
