Job summary

Mycareercraft is seeking a General Maintenance Worker (Building maintenance) in Franschhoek, South Africa to join our facilities team. You will install, maintain and repair electrical systems, inspect components, and collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience, a Diploma/Certificate as an Electrician, and strong knowledge of safety regulations. The role requires hands-on electrical work and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate as electrician required.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience.
• Proficient with electrical, hand and power tools.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and carpentry maintenance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring and lighting systems
• Perform general electrical maintenance
• Inspect circuit breakers and other electrical components on site
• Identify maintenance risks on equipment
• Identify electrical and mechanical faults
• Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance services
• Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Perform general maintenance work
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and other professionals
