Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in distribution networks for a hybrid role in Randburg. You will plan, design and optimize electrical distribution systems to ensure reliable power supply for a wide range of customers, working both on-site and remotely.

The role requires deep knowledge of network operations, load forecasting and integration of new technologies, with collaboration across teams to enhance efficiency and resilience of the power

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
• 8+ years in design, operation and maintenance of electrical distribution networks.
• Strong knowledge of distribution system planning, protection and control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term plans for expansion and modernization of electrical distribution networks.
• Perform load flow analysis, fault studies, and network modeling to assess performance.
• Design and specify components for distribution substations, overhead lines, and underground networks.
• Oversee procurement, installation and commissioning of new distribution assets.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and environmental policies.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field operations.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the planning, design, and optimization of electrical distribution systems that ensure reliable power supply to a wide range of customers. This role requires a deep understanding of network operations, load forecasting, and the integration of new technologies. You will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the efficiency and resilience of our power infrastructure, working collaboratively with teams both on-site and remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term plans for the expansion and modernization of electrical distribution networks.
• Perform load flow analysis, fault studies, and network modeling to assess system performance and identify improvement areas.
• Design and specify components for distribution substations, overhead lines, and underground cable networks.

Requirements
