Job summary

South Zambezi Engineering Services in Centurion is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead turnkey projects across Africa. You will participate in the conceptual phase to support budgeting and planning, while guiding junior engineers on critical designs.

You will apply extensive experience in pumping systems, MV power design, and water treatment processes, with strong project management and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Design experience related to pumping systems and water treatment processes.
• Knowledge of OHS Act and its application.
• Familiarity with National and International engineering codes and standards.
• Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consulting services to our customers.
• Produce and integrate engineering solutions/designs for asset creation on behalf of customers at various stages of project life cycle.
• Electrical Power System design (Including MV power lines design).
• MV Switchgear and substation design.
• Motor control centre design.
• System integration and evaluation.
• Earthing of MV and LV power system.

Job Summary

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be required to offer your expertise within the electrical engineering aspect on several turnkey projects throughout the African Continent. You will be required to be involved at the conceptual stage of projects to allow for accurate budgeting and project planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical consulting services to our customers
• Produce and integrates engineering solutions/designs for assert creation on behalf of customers at various stages of project life cycle
• Candidate must have more experience on the following:
• Electrical Power System design (Including MV power lines design)
• MV Switchgear and substation Design
• Motor control centre design
• System integration and evaluation
• Earthing of MV and LV power system
  
  

Knowledge

• Design experience of the pumping system,
• Project Management
• Operations of pumping equipment, dosing pumps and large pumping units
• Water Purification and treatment processes
• OHS Act and its application
• National and International Engineering codes and standards
  
  

Qualifications And Experience / Minimum Requirements

• B.Sc. or BEng in Electrical Engineering PrEng (ECSA Registered as a professional Engineer)
• Experience of managing a team of junior engineers and
• Minimum 15 and more years in engineering design, management and Construction.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in performing electrical/mechanical design
• Extensive experience in design and construction of steel water pipeline, pump stations, reservoirs, abstraction works and water treatment plants.
• Legal knowledge of Employee Equity Act, Labour and Employment laws, OHS Act, Design compliance standards.
• Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, various civil and water design software.
• Drivers Licence is Essential.
• Quality Management Ensure that there is ISO compliance.
• Regular inter-provincial and international site visits and meetings.
