Role Overview
The Senior Digital Strategist leads the strategic direction of digital projects across SEO, content, UX, CRM, campaigns, and performance. This role ensures that Digitlab delivers coherent, insight-driven strategies that move the needle for clients.
This position works closely with the CEO, Chief of Staff, Studio Leads, and Client Partners to guide thinking, shape solutions, and maintain the strategic standard of all work delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Direction
- Develop integrated digital strategies across CRM, SEO, content, UX, email, and campaigns.
- Translate business problems into clear frameworks and roadmaps.
- Align strategy across all Studio Leads and Specialist roles.
Workshops & Consulting
- Co-run workshops and discovery sessions with the CEO and Studio Leads.
- Present strategic recommendations to clients with confidence and clarity.
- Provide strategic escalation support to Client Partners.
CRM Architecture & Marketing Automation
- Shape the CRM strategy across HubSpot and Mailchimp to support lifecycle marketing, segmentation, lead qualification, and attribution.
- Map customer journeys into CRM workflows, ensuring that data architecture aligns with acquisition, nurturing, and sales handovers.
- Work with the studio to design workflows, triggers, scoring models, and segmentation logic.
- Ensure CRM systems support campaign objectives and measurement frameworks.
- Collaborate with UX and WebOps to ensure forms, tracking, and user flows feed clean data into CRM systems.
- Review CRM performance and recommend improvements in lifecycle alignment, data hygiene, and automation logic.
- Support Client Partners in utilising HubSpot effectively for pipeline management, reporting, and client visibility.
Campaign & Experience Architecture
- Lead messaging architecture, user journeys, and campaign flows.
- Shape multi-channel strategy (SEO + content + paid + automation + UX).
- Ensure all outputs are measurable and commercially sound.
- Develop, manage and oversee reporting for each clients results tracking
Quality & Consistency
- Review the work output created within the Studio and ensure alignment with the strategic approach.
- Maintain Digitlab’s standards for strategic work.
- Drive internal knowledge development and team alignment.
Collaboration & Internal Growth
- Support proposal strategy and scoping.
- Contribute to pitch work and thought leadership.
- Work closely with Studio Leads (UX/WebOps, Creative, SEO/Content).
Experience & Skills
Must-Have
- 6+ years of experience in digital strategy or a combination of SEO, content, UX, CRM, performance, and campaign planning.
- Strong strategic thinking and an ability to simplify complexity.
- Experience presenting to clients and leading strategic conversations.
- Comfortable working across multiple channels and disciplines.
- Ability to read data and turn insights into action.
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Mailchimp, SEMRush, GA4, AgencyAnalytics, or Kinsta.
- Experience in consulting environments.
- Workshop facilitation experience.
