Job summary

Lever, Inc. in South Africa-based partnership is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for an international banking project.

You will help shape cloud consumption with a modern self-service approach, designing a reusable golden path using Terraform and automation to enable teams to provision and manage cloud infrastructure. This fully remote role requires a strong background in AWS, IaC, and security, with governance and networking integrated into the platform experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps or Cloud Engineering.
• 1+ year hands-on AWS Cloud experience.
• Proficient with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with automation and CI/CD tooling.
• Strong Git and modern software development workflows.
• Platform Engineering experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of AWS IAM and networking concepts.
• Solid documentation and communication skills.
• Fluent English (B2) with French a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects autonomously and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a self-service cloud “golden path” using Terraform and automation.
• Develop reusable IaC components supporting onboarding, deployment, and connectivity.
• Integrate security, networking, governance, and compliance into the platform experience.
• Define and improve the developer/platform experience for consuming the golden path.
• Establish controlled processes for building, testing, releasing, and promoting platform code across environments.
• Create documentation for reusable Terraform components and usage models.
• Validate the golden path with a pilot application and iterate based on findings.
• Collaborate with technical teams and consultants across multiple projects and timelines.
