Job summary

Network International is seeking a senior software developer in Cape Town to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP, JavaScript (React/Vue), and related technologies. You’ll collaborate with product managers, QA, and DevOps to deliver high‑quality software solutions.

You will work with MySQL, AWS, and microservices patterns, write clean code, optimize performance, and participate in evolving development practices in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in software development.
• Experience in PHP (Laravel) essential.
• Experience with MySQL essential.
• Knowledge of Java, Golang beneficial.
• Experience in Microservices and Web API integration advantageous.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML; Vue.js and Node.js desirable.
• PCI - Data Security Standard knowledge and AWS cloud experience beneficial.
• Familiar with messaging queues (RabbitMQ / AWS SQS) and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high‑quality software solutions.
• Write efficient, clean, and reusable code in PHP, JavaScript (React/Vue), and related technologies for front‑end and back‑end.
• Integrate web applications with third‑party APIs and web services to ensure smooth data exchange.
• Optimize application performance and scalability and resolve bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with the database team to design and optimize MySQL schemas and queries.
• Utilize AWS cloud services to deploy and manage web applications for high availability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Stay up‑to‑date with trends in web development, cloud computing, and software engineering.
