Job summary

Native is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to design, build, and maintain the public website and internal tools. The role combines design and engineering in one person, with responsibility for end-to-end outcomes and a high craft bar.

The work centers on a modern stack (TypeScript, React, Next.js, Three.js, advanced CSS) and AI-assisted development to deliver production-grade surfaces that look and perform like enterprise software.

Qualifications

• Portfolio-backed ability to design and build production web software at high craft
• Shipped public-facing sites with typography, motion, art direction, and performance
• Shipped data-dense B2B or internal applications with dashboards, filters, permissions, and workflows
• Daily, production-level use of AI coding agents and a harness around them
• Has authored or owned a design system (tokens, templates, rules)
• Comfortable executing with ambiguity as the sole executor

Responsibilities

• Own the Public Web Presence: design, build, ship, and measure Native’s website end to end.
• Own Internal Product Surfaces: design and build internal applications to production-grade status.
• Build and Own the Brand OS: create a tokenized design system with a single repo.
• Set and Hold the Craft Bar: ensure typography, motion, density, and performance meet high standards.
• Ship to Engineering Standards and Partner Across Teams: implement code reviews, CI, observability, and docs.
