About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking analytics firm based in Centurion, Gauteng , is looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist with a specialization in Machine Learning to join their innovative team. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for various applications, including predictive analytics, natural language processing, and computer vision. Clean, transform, and preprocess large, complex datasets to prepare them for model training. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and potential insights. Evaluate and optimize the performance of machine learning models using appropriate metrics and techniques. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions. Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science research. Communicate complex findings and model results clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. Develop and maintain documentation for models, methodologies, and data pipelines. Contribute to the development of the data science team's best practices and toolkits. Ensure responsible and ethical use of AI and machine learning technologies.

Requirements

Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline. 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, with a strong focus on machine learning model development. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R. Expertise with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Solid understanding of statistical modeling, experimental design, and data mining techniques. Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark). Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data science workloads is a plus. Residing within or near Centurion, Gauteng or comfortable working remotely across South Africa .
