Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, CS, Math or Economics.
• At least 6 years of data science experience with big data analytics.
• Proven ability to build/deploy ML models (regression, classification, clustering, DL).
• Strong programming (Python or R) and SQL skills; experience with large data platforms.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated machine learning models to address key business challenges
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights

• Build and maintain predictive models for customer behavior, sales forecasting, and operational efficiency

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data science, with a focus on big data analytics
• Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning)
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and SQL
• Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis and experimental design
• Excellent data visualization and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems using data
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa
