Job summary

MOYO is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data platforms in Centurion. You will develop scalable data pipelines and warehouses using Azure data services to enable advanced analytics and visualisation via Power BI and Tableau.

The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust data solutions. Ideal candidates have 4–7 years in data engineering or BI, strong SQL and data mod­elling skills, and experience with Azure data services.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience designing and building data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Proficient in data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
• Experience with Azure data services and BI tooling preferable.
• Comfortable translating business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Strong communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and SQL.
• Develop and maintain data warehouses and data models (star schema).
• Integrate data from multiple sources ensuring data quality, governance and security.
• Design and implement data integration using Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake and/or Databricks.
• Monitor and optimize data pipelines and integration processes.
• Support and maintain BI platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team in Centurion and help design, build, and optimise data platforms that enable powerful insights and better decision-making. You will work with modern Azure data technologies, building scalable data pipelines and data warehouses that support advanced analytics and visualisation through Power BI and Tableau. Primary duties & responsibilities:

• Designing and building data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and SQL.
• Developing and maintaining data warehouses and data models (relational and star schema).
• Integrating data from multiple sources and ensuring data quality, governance, and security.
• Designing and implementing data integration solutions using Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake and/or Databricks.
• Monitoring and optimising data pipelines and integration processes.
• Supporting and maintaining existing data environments and BI platforms.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
• Supporting the development of Power BI or Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Troubleshooting technical and data issues and improving overall data platform performance.

Required skills & experience:

• 4-7 years’ experience in a data engineering, BI, or data warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts.
• Azure Data Factory

• Databricks (advantageous)
• Strong SQL development skills using SSMS and Visual Studio.
