Job summary

MOYO is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Centurion to design, build, and optimise data platforms using Azure technologies for powerful insights. You will create scalable data pipelines and warehouses supporting advanced analytics and BI visualization through Power BI and Tableau.

Responsibilities include ETL design, data modelling, data quality governance, and securing data ecosystems while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver data solutions that drive informed decision making.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of data engineering/BI data warehouse experience.
• Strong data warehousing and data modelling knowledge.
• Proficiency with Azure data services and SQL development.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and BI dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and SQL.
• Developing and maintaining data warehouses and data models (star schema).
• Integrating data from multiple sources with governance and security.
• Building data integration solutions using Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake, Databricks.
• Monitoring and optimizing data pipelines and BI platforms.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Supporting Power BI and Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Troubleshooting data issues and improving platform performance.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team in Centurion and help design, build, and optimise data platforms that enable powerful insights and better decision-making. You will work with modern Azure data technologies, building scalable data pipelines and data warehouses that support advanced analytics and visualisation through Power BI and Tableau. Primary duties & responsibilities:

• Designing and building data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and SQL.
• Developing and maintaining data warehouses and data models (relational and star schema).
• Integrating data from multiple sources and ensuring data quality, governance, and security.
• Designing and implementing data integration solutions using Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake and/or Databricks.
• Monitoring and optimising data pipelines and integration processes.
• Supporting and maintaining existing data environments and BI platforms.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
• Supporting the development of Power BI or Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Troubleshooting technical and data issues and improving overall data platform performance.

Required skills & experience:

• 4–7 years’ experience in a data engineering, BI, or data warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts.
