We are seeking a Senior/Lead Data Engineer on behalf of our client, the Western Cape's primary regional bottling and distribution partner for the world's leading global beverage brand.

About the Role:

The Lead Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping our clients data landscape. You will develop and optimise scalable data pipelines, uphold high data quality, and manage robust data infrastructure to deliver reliable, efficient and cost-effective data solutions.

This junior leadership role translates stakeholder needs into practical data solutions that enable analytics, supports business and technology strategies, and drives the evolution of the data engineering function. You will also mentor team members and ensure strong alignment with organisational goals, data integrity, system performance and governance standards.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Management or a specialised related field

Experience

• Minimum 4 years’ Business Analysis or related technical experience
• In-depth knowledge of the industry and solid business experience
• Proven experience leading teams
• Strategic and critical thinking
• Proficiency in ELT/ETL tools
• Strong data modelling and architecture skills
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration

What's On Offer?

• Salary: R72,000 per month
• Membership of the Alexander Forbes Retirement Fund
• 13th cheque (typically paid in December, prorated for the remainder of 2026)
