Forvis Mazars South Africa (Cape Town) is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to assist the organization with monitoring audit quality by collecting, summarizing data, synthesizing data, and compiling reports.
Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases / data systems.
Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
Work with management to prioritise business and information needs.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Post-matric qualifications (Quantitative or IT subjects are advantageous).
3+ years of working experience in the field.
Background or strong interest in related technology solutions.
Excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to be self-motivated and take high responsibility for daily work.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and multi-task to produce quality client deliverables.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, organisational and communication skills.
Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; Access preferred).
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages and databases (SQL, etc.).
Strong SQL scripting and database management.
Strong Excel skills (VBA Excel is advantageous).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
