Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will deliver advanced security assessments, create strategic roadmaps, and guide clients through implementing robust security controls.

With 6+ years in cybersecurity consulting, you will lead client engagements, advise on data protection and incident response, and help clients achieve compliance across frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001 and SOC 2. Hybrid work available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with a significant portion in a consulting or advisory capacity.
• Proven expertise in conducting various types of security assessments and penetration tests.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2), risk management principles, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern security architectures.
• Excellent client-facing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or GIAC are highly advantageous.
• Experience with hybrid work models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth security assessments, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security architecture reviews for clients.
• Develop and present comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps tailored to client needs and risk profiles.
• Advise clients on best practices for data protection, threat mitigation, and incident response.
• Lead the implementation of security solutions, including network security, endpoint security, and cloud security controls.
• Assist clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Provide expert guidance on cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC).
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and translate this knowledge into actionable client recommendations.
• Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to client staff on security best practices.
• Contribute to the firm's knowledge base and service offering development.
