The ideal candidate will be admitted as an attorney in SA with at least 7 years of PQE, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a pragmatic, proactive approach to mitigate risk while delivering

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa; 7+ years in corporate and commercial law.
• Proven contract drafting and negotiation expertise.
• In-depth knowledge of South African company, commercial and intellectual property law.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Experience with technology-related legal issues is advantageous.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate and commercial matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts and agreements.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and relevant South African legislation.
• Manage intellectual property portfolios and advise on licensing agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and memoranda.
• Assist in managing litigation and dispute resolution strategies.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
• Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
• Support various business units with their legal needs.
